| About Us |
The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility at Duke strives to be a center of excellence in three complimentary areas;
- patient care,
- research &
- education.
This enables Duke to
- understand & deliver the most effective therapies
- while contributing to the advancement of our specialty &
- insuring excellence in the next generation of fertility specialists.
Each of these three efforts enrich the other two.
'Doctors in training' challenge their mentors to explain why they do what they do.
Having to justify their practice,
the faculty systematically set out to evaluate the effectiveness of each aspect of care & truly learn how to be better clinicians.
Knowledge is then gained and passed on through education, publications & conferences.
Clinical
The clinical team is comprised of
The clinical team is comprised of

The program reaches out to the community by providing care in Raleigh & Greensboro.
In April 2006 we moved into our new, state of the art Fertility Center along the I-40 corridor in Durham.
Research
The Duke Research effort spans the spectrum of bench science to clinical research.
Research
The Duke Research effort spans the spectrum of bench science to clinical research.
Without research our knowledge and the practice of medicine would remain stagnant.
- Independently and in collaboration with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology has investigated the mechanism of action of sex steroids for over 20 years.
Dr. Tom Price is currently investigating a novel membrane bound progesterone receptor.
This research is contributing to our knowledge of both fertility & cancer.
- Other clinical research efforts within the division span the spectrum of scrutinizing the latest claims of success in infertility therapies to investigating novel new therapies.
Education
Education is another core components of the Duke Reproductive Endocrinology program. Many hours are spent…
- educating patients prior to making important clinical decisions &
- training the next generation of physicians who will lead our specialty.
While in training, each RE fellow helps us to advance the knowledge in our field and keep us on the cutting edge of the knowledge in this rapidly changing field of medicine.
The Duke commitment to excellence involves an equal amount of attention to listening, learning and leading.
